Ten days symposium: Christians Don't vote. Day 7

By Tarisai P Ziyambi

Church and State should be separate and that separation wall should be built higher than it is now,it is because the state politicians now rely on evangelical voting branch that they are tearing down the separation wall. If Christians were never involved in politics, the ruin of the state through the theocratic tyranny of the powers of darkness with their pretended righteousness would have been avoided. The Orwellian "Common Good"  and various encyclicals are now being adopted into statute books, the Laudato si' for example is manifesting itself in the Paris Climate Agreement and "The Green New Deal". The conservative branch in effort to appeal to the evangelical Christian bloc, appoints judges who are pro-Christian though the constitution prohibit religious test for holding public office. The involvement of Christianity in politics has widened political tribalism and unfortunately we have turned the Lamb into a Beast  through hypocrisy. It may seem that by not voting, the Christian is aloof to the issues at stake in elections. Ex-President Obama once said that "elections have consequences", but Christians cannot be united in Christ if politics of any kind is mingled with their testimony.

"The Lord would have His people bury political questions. On these themes silence is eloquence. Christ calls upon His followers to come into unity on the pure gospel principles which are plainly revealed in the word of God. We cannot with safety vote for political parties; for we do not know whom we are voting for. We cannot with safety take part in any political scheme. Those who are Christians indeed will be branches of the true vine, and will bear the same fruit as the vine. They will act in harmony, in Christian fellowship. They will not wear political badges, but the badge of Christ. CCh 316.2.

What are we to do, then? Should we let political questions alone? "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light" Ephesians 5:11-13.

I am not negating the importance of studying human history in view of the prophetic message so that we can see where we are in prophetic time. "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is" Ephesians 5: 15-17.

"God’s children are to separate themselves from politics, from any alliance with unbelievers. Do not take part in political strife. Separate from the world, and refrain from bringing into the church or school ideas that will lead to contention and disorder. Dissension is the moral poison taken into the system by human beings who are selfish" Gospel Workers, 391-395 .

For sometime, I have been warning about the Hegelian dialectic, the plandemic of thesis versus antithesis to get to the synthesis. If Christians are caught up in the fight between the two thesis, they would have swallowed the bait and find themselves with the evangelical  ecumenical alliance who are now associated with the right wingers and thus creating enemies with the left wingers. The ever changing political pendulum will mean that evangelicals will find themselves hating the "other side" just like the world.

"As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed faith in the third angel’s message, but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position, and join the ranks of the opposition. By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren. When Sabbath-keepers are brought before the courts to answer for their faith, these apostates are the most efficient agents of Satan to misrepresent and accuse them, and by false reports and insinuations to stir up the rulers against them"GC88 608.1
