Battle Mind

What is Irrationalism?

By Tarisai P Ziyambi

"Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." — Daniel 12:10

To recognize a counterfeit, one must first understand the genuine. Unfortunately, irrationalism has become so ingrained in our society that rational thinking is now seen as the anomaly.

Take, for example, the double or triple masking trend—once hailed as virtuous, it has become little more than a form of virtue signaling. The same voices that once chanted, "I can't breathe!" in protest seem oddly silent when it comes to the very real oxygen restriction caused by excessive masking. Where is the logic in self-harm disguised as morality?

In Christianity, irrationalists blindly follow religious gimmicks and clergy theatrics—clowns have left the circus only to take up residence in the pulpit. Congregations, in their sincerity, are at the mercy of pickpockets in robes, momentarily uplifted by flickering lights and emotional highs. But is that faith, or just manipulation?

Rational vs. Irrational Thinking

To be rational is to apply reason and understanding. The rational mind sees the reality of two genders, while the irrational mind is swayed by a professor who insists that there are over a hundred. The rational person recognizes life in the womb, while the irrationalist believes that a baby is just a "cell" until it takes its first breath—and even then, only if the law says so.

Africa's Christian community has been deceived by trickery disguised as righteousness. "The robbers of thy people" have seduced us with flattery, exploiting our faith. With just a single Bible verse and a cacophony of noise, so-called prophets fleece their followers of hard-earned money. These dumb dogs that cannot bark (Isaiah 56:10) drive luxury cars while swerving to avoid potholes the size of swimming pools.

What has your theology done for you? Fanaticism has cursed us, leading believers to graze like Nebuchadnezzar at the command of a self-proclaimed prophet. And when these prophets flee to Malawi after being caught laundering money, their followers still call them martyrs rather than charlatans. Because they received not the love of the truth, God sends them strong delusions so they believe a lie (2 Thessalonians 2:10-11).

The Danger of an Undisciplined Mind

Even your thoughts must be brought into subjection to the will of God. Your feelings should be governed by reason and true faith—not impulse. Your imagination was not given to "run riot without restraint or discipline." If your thoughts are misguided, your emotions will follow, and together, they will shape your character.

"When you decide that as Christians you are not required to restrain your thoughts and feelings, you invite the influence of evil angels and their control. If you yield to impressions—allowing your mind to dwell on suspicion, doubt, and complaints—you will be among the most miserable of mortals, and your life will be a failure." — 5T 310.1

Irrationalism, wrapped in religious fervor, is the root of poverty, deception, and spiritual decline. Until we embrace truth and logic, we will continue to suffer under the weight of our own delusions.
