Sabbath Message : What did the angels see?

Sabbath Message : What did the angels see? Part 1.

02/01/21

A blessed first Sabbath of 2021 according to the Gregorian calendar (1582) we are now so familiar with. Last year 2020 was the year of the vision and surely the workings of the two mysteries were revealed in most vivid way. The Davos club and their global reset agenda through the pandemic, lockdowns, vaccination crisis and the subsequent Global Reset modeled after the "common good" Roman Church State agenda. The union and works of the globalist powers in darkness through the mystery Babylon the great the mother of harlots is reaching it's climax and in 2020 the fruit of their labours came out of the shadows to reveal to the student of prophecy that the long prophecied mark of the beast crisis is soon to be realized with overwhelming surprise. The past year has also revealed the wonderful workings of the mystery of Godliness in the Revelation of that mystery for the obedience of faith. So what was the Revelation of that mystery which in many churches and prophetic circles became the most discussed subject? The messages of Righteousness by Faith in line with practical Godliness were prominent topics on various Zoom platforms. The workings of the mystery of Godliness through the Convergence was the major Revelation, how "That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:" Ephesians 1:10. In simple language, the convergence is represented by Jacob's vision of the ladder (Genesis 28:11-13), that Christ was the connecting link between heaven and earth through the cross, therefore if we are to be joined to Him we also need to meet Him at the cross. Therefore "Both the redeemed and the unfallen beings will find in the cross of Christ their science and their song" DA 19. 2. The subject this Sabbath is a question to the statements from the ministering spirits in the vision of The Revalator at the opening of the seals in Revelation chapter six verses one, three, five and seven. What did these beasts see in the seals and why is it significant in regards to our time (2021)?

In Revelation chapter five John sees a book on the right hand of God sealed with seven seals which could only be loosened by the Lion of the tribe of Judah who prevailed against the mystery of iniquity which sealed up the mystery of Godliness from the sight of both the angelic hosts and from humanity. The cross of Jesus unsealed the vision of the angels and Satan was fully exposed to be a murderer from the beginning and the mysterious workings of Love as the chief attribute of God was made manifest. The fresh Revelation of Jesus and the unmasking of Satan is what the angels saw in the unsealing and want us all to see in 2021 by fearlessly proving all things.

The book on the right hand of God in Revelation 5 is said to be sealed with seven seals. This symbolic description of Revelation of Jesus Christ in the past, present and future will help us understand the way amid the confusion our time. According to Haskell in Story of Seer of Patmos p.g 109.2 “The secret history of those on earth, between whom and the Father no being can intervene, is held in the right hand of that Father, and the Lamb alone is able to fulfil what is written within the scroll. The seals, opened, reveal the life of the church, the child of God; and beginning at the birth of Christianity, the seals extend to the end of time. Others may know somewhat of the life; but only the Father knows the environments, the place of birth, the inherited tendencies of His child, He alone is able to appreciate the character and to form righteous judgment concerning it”.

So what did the angels see in the opening of the first four seals? It is obvious that John saw in the seals what the angels saw. The student of prophecy will understand that the opening of the first seal was the beginning of the first church at Pentecost which was fifty days after the Passover in Egypt. The history of the church in the wilderness was a shadow of the New Testament church of the disciples, Christ being the passover lamb and the Holy Spirit descending to as fire to write the law in the heart of the disciples in fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:33. Now the Revelation of the White Horse and His Rider who conquers the world was a revelation of the principle that self sacrificing Love though it may seem to be a loss it is but a great gain and that self exaltation is a gain that is a loss: "... for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted" Luke 18:14.

"By coming to dwell with us, Jesus was to reveal God both to men and to angels. He was the Word of God,—God’s thought made audible. In His prayer for His disciples He says, “I have declared unto them Thy name,”—“merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,”—“that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” But not alone for His earthborn children was this revelation given. Our little world is the lesson book of the universe. God’s wonderful purpose of grace, the mystery of redeeming love, is the theme into which “angels desire to look,” and it will be their study throughout endless ages. Both the redeemed and the unfallen beings will find in the cross of Christ their science and their song. It will be seen that the glory shining in the face of Jesus is the glory of self-sacrificing love. In the light from Calvary it will be seen that the law of self-renouncing love is the law of life for earth and heaven; that the love which “seeketh not her own” has its source in the heart of God; and that in the meek and lowly One is manifested the character of Him who dwelleth in the light which no man can approach unto" DA 19.2 .

The angels understood fully that 'the law of self-renouncing love is the law of life for earth and heaven' and this love which doesn't seek self has it's origin in the heart of God. This was the mystery that was hidden in God and was made manifest by the victory of the cross. Did the angels not understand the working of this principle?

"In heaven itself this law was broken. Sin originated in self-seeking. Lucifer, the covering cherub, desired to be first in heaven. He sought to gain control of heavenly beings, to draw them away from their Creator, and to win their homage to himself. Therefore he misrepresented God, attributing to Him the desire for self-exaltation. With his own evil characteristics he sought to invest the loving Creator. Thus he deceived angels. Thus he deceived men. He led them to doubt the word of God, and to distrust His goodness. Because God is a God of justice and terrible majesty, Satan caused them to look upon Him as severe and unforgiving. Thus he drew men to join him in rebellion against God, and the night of woe settled down upon the world" DA 21.3.

"The earth was dark through misapprehension of God. That the gloomy shadows might be lightened, that the world might be brought back to God, Satan’s deceptive power was to be broken. This could not be done by force. The exercise of force is contrary to the principles of God’s government; He desires only the service of love; and love cannot be commanded; it cannot be won by force or authority. Only by love is love awakened. To know God is to love Him; His character must be manifested in contrast to the character of Satan. This work only one Being in all the universe could do. Only He who knew the height and depth of the love of God could make it known. Upon the world’s dark night the Sun of Righteousness must rise, “with healing in His wings.” Malachi 4:2" DA 22.1.

The Angels saw the contrast between Christ and Satan, that only by love is love awakened. This is the purpose of the Revelation that to know God is to love Him. Christ came at the height of Pagan Rome which exalted itself above other former kingdoms and hatred for this exalted power was high but yet at point in time humbled Himself and manifested Love.

It is by our testimony that many will be led to the cross and obtain mercy to become candidates for heaven. If we fail to live righteously and soberly in this present world we will cause souls to be lost. The peaceful character of the disciples of Jesus under the violence of the Roman and the Pharisees was a vivid contrast to that of Satan and his followers. Only by love was the doment loving character which Adam had before the fall was awakened and that light could not be hidden under a bushel.

"In the theological schools of Judea the word of God had been set aside for human speculations; it was robbed of its power by the interpretations and traditions of the rabbis.... With their fierce hatred of their Roman oppressors, they cherished the determination to recover by force of arms their national supremacy. The followers of Jesus, whose message of peace was so contrary to their schemes of ambition, they hated and put to death" CC 338.3.

The exodus and events from Sinai till Jordan is the story of our pilgrimage from the world (Egypt) till we reach heavenly Canaan. The angels understood that the mind of Jesus if allowed in the hearts of believers will lighten the world with the glory of God."Reading in the scars in Christ’s hands and feet the marks of His service for humanity, and the length to which self-abnegation leads to save the lost and perishing, Mark had become willing to follow the Master in the path of self-sacrifice. Now, sharing the lot of Paul the prisoner, he understood better than ever before that it is infinite gain to win Christ, infinite loss to win the world and lose the soul for whose redemption the blood of Christ was shed" AA 455.1 .

"Looking in faith to the Redeemer, John had risen to the height of self-abnegation. He sought not to attract men to himself, but to lift their thoughts higher and still higher, until they should rest upon the Lamb of God. He himself had been only a voice, a cry in the wilderness. Now with joy he accepted silence and obscurity, that the eyes of all might be turned to the Light of life" DA 179.4

Those who are true to their calling as messengers for God will not seek honor for themselves. Love for self will be swallowed up in love for Christ. No rivalry will mar the precious cause of the gospel. They will recognize that it is their work to proclaim, as did John the Baptist, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29. They will lift up Jesus, and with Him humanity will be lifted up. “Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15.  - DA 179.5

So with the followers of Christ. We can receive of heaven’s light only as we are willing to be emptied of self. We cannot discern the character of God, or accept Christ by faith, unless we consent to the bringing into captivity of every thought to the obedience of Christ. To all who do this the Holy Spirit is given without measure. In Christ “dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and in Him ye are made full.” Colossians 2:9, 10, R. V. DA 181.1
