Egypt Babylon Egypt: Bound and enslaved by oath. Study 36

The poverty of discernment and indecisiveness go hand in hand, many are thus bound into bondage by their oath. It's deception that snares many into signing unfair agreements at haste to their downfall, the end of happiness they once had is thus sold away with a ceremony. It's unfortunate to state that the oath celebration is perhaps the last time they will celebrate anything because the bees do sting at the beehive while the honey is fresh and the consequences we now see on the necks. The order of the day is the policies that force poisonous inoculation, only to be allowed to breathe through fabrics of control. The artful deals we sign up to with these politicians at the polling stations have led us on a journey "to no were slowly".Without seeking wisdom from God we find ourselves in the deep mire, that is the reason why many do suffer from marital and financial woes etc, if only we knew that the hasty moves have delayed many from receiving "the promise", we would be weary of navigating on ways that divert our attention from weightier matters, instead of taking a road that will take us forty years for a forty days journey. We need leadership who can understand that principle should govern policy though emotions are heightened by media hysteria, the Chaz Seattle is a bad idea, perhaps even seeing beyond the smoke screen of BLM. To haste for a hooked worm like a fish is alike imbibing in the election garbage as if the solution to injustice has ever been afforded by the two horn beast, Biden or Trump are similar horses carrying the agenda of the Papacy, before retreating to a safe space, Study Revelation 13. The unholy fires kindled in our sight have caused many to be caught up with the thread, we are now ready to take sides with the swinging pendulum, when it sways against us we mourn and the other side celebrates vice versa. How long shall we be justifying the gatherings of none believers in pubs for a pint but allow the outlaw of holy gatherings for Sacred communion. How long shall we allow political tribalism to silence the voice against injustice, when will the voices of liberty be heard? Now the leading hashtags on social media are against reason, the Gibeonites with their old sophistry are always fake!!
Scripture reading : "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries" Daniel 11:31-34.
I should be clear with many today, I also was disgusted and shocked by the murder of George Floyd and will do my best to advocate for significant changes and reform of public institutions to properly remedy the institutional racism and inequalities.I however will not be taking the side of "Owens" to the right or "Cube" to the left, I do understand their emotions in regards to the points they raise but I have always been watching the movement of the synthesis (the placing of the Papacy on the throne).I strongly believe that all roads though concealed lead to Rome and my thesis nails have to be placed on a sure place. The beasts from the bottomless pit are uniting and consolidating and gearing the world on the verge of a stupendous crisis. Like the scorched earth policy of the past, the removal of the obstacles that will take the world back to the dark ages is nigh at hand. If one doesn't see this although plainly revealed by the Scriptures, perhaps the stones will speak in George Orwell's "Animal Farm" and know that history is fast repeating and though monuments we may remove but history of today is the result of our yesterday and today's history will be the problem of tomorrow. All I am saying is that we should not allow our eyes to be blinded by emotions as if God has not given the Church the the clear vision of the Seers. The vision of the Third Angel should engross the whole mind and attention because Satan is watching to catch away every impression that will make us wise unto salvation and the time of trouble will find us unready. Again I am not negating our need to be released from the heavy chains of Slavery or the Roman yoke.
From Shechem the Israelites returned to their encampment at Gilgal. Here they were soon after visited by a strange deputation, who desired to enter into treaty with them. The ambassadors represented that they had come from a distant country, and this seemed to be confirmed by their appearance. Their clothing was old and worn, their sandals were patched, their provisions moldy, and the skins that served them for wine bottles were rent and bound up, as if hastily repaired on the journey. - PP 505.1
In their far-off home—professedly beyond the limits of Palestine—their fellow countrymen, they said, had heard of the wonders which God had wrought for His people, and had sent them to make a league with Israel. The Hebrews had been specially warned against entering into any league with the idolaters of Canaan, and a doubt as to the truth of the strangers’ words arose in the minds of the leaders. “Peradventure ye dwell among us,” they said. To this the ambassadors only replied, “We are thy servants.” But when Joshua directly demanded of them, “Who are ye? and from whence come ye?” they reiterated their former statement, and added, in proof of their sincerity, “This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is moldy: and these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.” - PP 505.2
These representations prevailed. The Hebrews “asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord. And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.” Thus the treaty was entered into. Three days afterward the truth was discovered. “They heard that they were their neighbors, and that they dwelt among them.” Knowing that it was impossible to resist the Hebrews, the Gibeonites had resorted to stratagem to preserve their lives. - PP 505.3
Great was the indignation of the Israelites as they learned the deception that had been practiced upon them. And this was heightened when, after three days’ journey, they reached the cities of the Gibeonites, near the center of the land. “All the congregation murmured against the princes;” but the latter refused to break the treaty, though secured by fraud, because they had “sworn unto them by the Lord God of Israel.” “And the children of Israel smote them not.” The Gibeonites had pledged themselves to renounce idolatry, and accept the worship of Jehovah; and the preservation of their lives was not a violation of God’s command to destroy the idolatrous Canaanites. Hence the Hebrews had not by their oath pledged themselves to commit sin. And though the oath had been secured by deception, it was not to be disregarded. The obligation to which one’s word is pledged—if it do not bind him to perform a wrong act—should be held sacred. No consideration of gain, of revenge, or of self-interest can in any way affect the inviolability of an oath or pledge. “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord.” Proverbs 12:22. He that “shall ascend into the hill of the Lord,” and “stand in His holy place,” is “he that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.” - PP 506.1
Satan once endeavored to form a compromise with Christ. He came to the Son of God in the wilderness of temptation, and, showing him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, offered to give all into his hands if he would but acknowledge the supremacy of the prince of darkness. Christ rebuked the presumptuous tempter, and forced him to depart. But Satan meets with greater success in presenting the same temptations to man. To secure worldly gains and honors, the church was led to seek the favor and support of the great men of earth, and having thus rejected Christ, she was induced to yield allegiance to the representative of Satan,—the bishop of Rome. - GC88 50.2
It is one of the leading doctrines of Romanism that the pope is the visible head of the universal church of Christ, invested with supreme authority over bishops and pastors in all parts of the world. More than this, the pope has arrogated the very titles of Deity. He styles himself “Lord God the Pope,” assumes infallibility, and demands that all men pay him homage. Thus the same claim urged by Satan in the wilderness of temptation is still urged by him through the Church of Rome, and vast numbers are ready to yield him homage. - GC88 50.3
But those who fear and reverence God meet this Heaven-daring assumption as Christ met the solicitations of the wily foe: “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” [Luke 4:8.] God has never given a hint in his Word that he has appointed any man to be the head of the church. The doctrine of papal supremacy is directly opposed to the teachings of the Scriptures. The pope can have no power over Christ’s church except by usurpation. - GC88 51.1
When Jesus revealed to his disciples the fate of Jerusalem and the scenes of the second advent, he foretold also the experience of his people from the time when he should be taken from them, to his return in power and glory for their deliverance. From Olivet the Saviour beheld the storms about to fall upon the apostolic church, and, penetrating deeper into the future, his eye discerned the fierce, wasting tempests that were to beat upon his followers in the coming ages of darkness and persecution. In a few brief utterances, of awful significance, he foretold the portion which the rulers of this world would mete out to the church of God. [Matthew 24:9, 21, 22.] The followers of Christ must tread the same path of humiliation, reproach, and suffering which their Master trod. The enmity that burst forth against the world’s Redeemer, would be manifested against all who should believe on his name. - GC88 39.1
The history of the early church testified to the fulfillment of the Saviour’s words. The powers of earth and hell arrayed themselves against Christ in the person of his followers. Paganism foresaw that should the gospel triumph, her temples and altars would be swept away; therefore she summoned her forces to destroy Christianity. The fires of persecution were kindled. Christians were stripped of their possessions, and driven from their homes. They “endured a great fight of afflictions.” [Hebrews 10:32.] They “had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment.” [Hebrews 11:36, 37, 38.] Great numbers sealed their testimony with their blood. Noble and slave, rich and poor, learned and ignorant, were alike slain without mercy. GC88 39.2
These persecutions, beginning under Nero about the time of the martyrdom of Paul, continued with greater or less fury for centuries. Christians were falsely accused of the most dreadful crimes, and declared to be the cause of great calamities—famine, pestilence, and earthquake. As they became the objects of popular hatred and suspicion, informers stood ready, for the sake of gain, to betray the innocent. They were condemned as rebels against the empire, as foes of religion, and pests to society. Great numbers were thrown to wild beasts or burned alive in the amphitheaters. Some were crucified; others were covered with the skins of wild animals, and thrust into the arena to be torn by dogs. Their punishment was often made the chief entertainment at public fetes. Vast multitudes assembled to enjoy the sight, and greeted their dying agonies with laughter and applause. - GC88 40.1
Wherever they sought refuge, the followers of Christ were hunted like beasts of prey. They were forced to seek concealment in desolate and solitary places. “Destitute, afflicted, tormented; of whom the world was not worthy; they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.” [Hebrews 11:36, 37, 38.] The catacombs afforded shelter for thousands. Beneath the hills outside the city of Rome, long galleries had been tunneled through earth and rock; the dark and intricate network of passages extended for miles beyond the city walls. In these underground retreats, the followers of Christ buried their dead; and here also, when suspected and proscribed, they found a home. When the Lifegiver shall awaken those who have fought the good fight, many a martyr for Christ’s sake will come forth from those gloomy caverns. - GC88 40.2
